Component
Products, Inc. started in 1988 as a local supplier of Octagonal
Cast Iron Pedestal Bases, serving traffic wholesalers of Illinois.
In 1990, we expanded with the addition of a square pattern
for Aluminum and Cast Iron Bases. This line was complemented with
an inventory of Aluminum and Steel Poles. 1992 brought the
acquisition of the Tucker Company, which enabled us to increase
our product line and expand our scope of operations throughout the
United States and Canada. At the same time, we acquired all the inventory and patterns from Traffic Control Technologies out of Pennsylvania. This included all of the Crouse-Hinds patterns for bases, cabinets, and hardware.
1993 found us
in need of much larger facilities. The following items were part
of our 1993 expansion:
- New Patterns for
both Octagonal and Square Bases
- New CNC Turning and
Milling Machines
- Addition of New
Products
- Polycarbonate
Side of Pole Bracket
- Anchor Bolts -
Nuts - Washers
- Pole Caps - Lock
Nuts - Nipples and related items
In 1997, we were again in need of a larger facility, resulting in our move to Schaumburg, IL with three times the capacity of our former facility. This expansion brought about the purchase of three new manufacturing machines to
service our increasing customer base.
In 1999, we introduced our patented Polycarbonate Post Top Mount.
In 2001, we purchased a large horizontal machining center to broaden our scope of machining. Furthering our machining expansion, we purchased a Mazak QTN-250MS with live tooling in 2005. Some products that have been added with our continuing growth are as follows:
- Transformer Break Away Bases
- Ballast Housing Bases
- Helix Foundations - Auger Steel Foundations
- Shrouds
- Traffic Control Boxes
- Cast Aluminum Electrical Boxes
- Decorative Bases
- Push Button Signs & Poles
- Concrete Poles & Luminaries
- Sign Bases & Brackets
In 2018, continuing our growth, we moved to Elmhurst IL to allow for manufacturing and inventory expansion.
